MUSIC DIRECTOR  
St. Francis in-the-Field Episcopal Church, 895 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra, FL 32081

St. Francis in-the-Field seeks an exceptional Music Director to lead their vibrant worship ministry. This part-time position ($33K-$36K annually, plus wedding/funeral fees) requires a skilled organist/pianist who will play Rodgers organ and Steinway piano for Sunday services, Holy Week, Christmas, and special liturgies.

Core Responsibilities:
Direct volunteer choir with weekly Thursday rehearsals; collaborate with Rector on worship planning; maintain Anglican choral music tradition while incorporating renewal music; hire supplemental musicians; manage music budget and contractor payments; coordinate community music programs; provide pastoral presence to choir.


Required Qualifications:
Superior organ/piano/choral directing skills; knowledge of Episcopal liturgy and sacred music; choral conducting proficiency across age groups; music-editing software competency; excellent organizational, leadership, and communication abilities; collaborative and flexible temperament. Composing/arranging skills valued.


Schedule:
Part-time including Sunday mornings, Thursday evening rehearsals, and special services. First right of refusal for weddings/funerals. Background check, Safe Church Training, and policy adherence required.

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC AND ORGANIST
St. Francis in-the-Field Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra, Florida

Schedule & Compensation:
  • This is a part-time position including Sunday services and weekly evening rehearsal, currently on Thursdays.
  • Annual base salary range is 33K to 36K annually and is to commensurate with experience. Additional income streams are available as the principal musician for weddings and funerals.
  • As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will undergo a criminal background check, complete the required Safe Church Training, and must strictly adhere to Episcopal Church Safe Church policies and guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Play the piano and/or organ and lead music at liturgies and services on Sunday mornings and other special services as required by the Rector and as described in the church calendar year and required additional services: Holy Week, Christmas Eve, feast days and other special services.
  • Collaborate with the Rector and the Director of Ministry in planning worship.
  • Build upon the strong tradition at St. Francis of Anglican Choral music and a sprinkling of renewal music.
  • Direct an all-volunteer choir and facilitate weekly rehearsals.
  • Hire outside musicians for Proper Sundays and/or special services.
  • Weddings & funerals, principal musician with first right of refusal.
  • Coordinate with community partners in the delivery of excellent musical programs.
  • Prepare and monitor the music ministry budget; present an annual budget to the Finance Committee; present a yearly report at the Annual Parish Meeting.
  • Manage independent contractor musicians and prepare monthly check requests for same.
  • Serve as a pastoral and spiritual presence to the choir.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Superb organist/pianist/choral director/musician with a commitment to excellence in liturgical worship.
  • Knowledge of traditional sacred music and Episcopal liturgical practice.
  • Proficiency in choral conducting (with singers of all ages).
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Collaborative, organized, flexible, sensitive, and friendly.
  • Highly organized, flexible with good leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in music-editing software; composing and arranging skills a plus.

MUSIC DIRECTOR 

St. Patrick Catholic Church, Jacksonville FL  

Music Director Reports to: Pastor
Part Time – including weekends
FLSA: Hourly Non-Exempt


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Play the organ at three weekend Masses (5:00 PM on Saturdays, 8:00 and 10:00 AM on Sundays) and Holy Days.
  • Direct the Adult and Children's scholas and lead a weekly rehearsal for each.
  • Train cantors and facilitate formation of singers in liturgy, sacred music, and traditional Latin chant and choral.
  • Plan sacred music for all liturgical celebrations in the parish and provide and arrange for music at "non-scheduled" liturgies such as weddings and funerals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Practicing Catholics with knowledge of Catholic liturgy and Gregorian chant both Latin and English.
  • Previous choral conducting experience and requisite organ skills are required (the organ is a 3-manual Johannus Ecclesia).
  • Ability to effectively lead rehearsals and endeavor to cultivate a love of authentic liturgical music.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is seeking a passionate part-time Music Director/Organist to enrich our inviting and accessible music program at our warm and welcoming liturgical parish.

Major responsibilities include playing the organ and piano, music selection alongside clergy, and directing the choir through Sunday morning rehearsal and worship, plus special services for occasional holy days throughout the year. The Music Director also supports occasional services at other times (weddings, funerals).

Experience/skills required for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Supports the importance of music as part of the church's spiritual life and ministry
  • Competency with organ and piano
  • Ability to direct choir and lead practices prior to worship
  • Self-motivated, proactively selecting music for upcoming services

Responsibilities of the position include:
  • Plays organ and/or piano for Sunday morning and special worship services.
  • In coordination with the Rector, develops guidelines for seasonally and liturgically appropriate music for services and then selects music in accordance with the guidelines.
  • Selects voluntary music, hymns, and anthems, giving adequate time for review and preparation.
  • Conducts weekly Sunday morning choir rehearsals, so that the choir may make their offering in worship to the best of their abilities.
  • Arranges for substitutes for the Music Director’s vacation and/or for personal leave
  • Arranges for substitutes for weddings/funerals at which the Music Director is not able to serve.
  • With approval of the Rector, coordinates with local musicians, recruiting instrumentalists and additional vocalists to enrich special services as needed.

Compensation:
  • Annual base salary range is negotiable commensurate with experience and/or schedule. Additional income streams are available as the principal organist for weddings and funerals.
  • As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will undergo a criminal background check, complete the required Safe Church Training, and must strictly adhere to Episcopal Church Safe Church policies and guidelines.
  • The position will start in late spring to early summer.

FULL OR PART TIME CHURCH MUSICIAN POSITION AVAILABLE

We are seeking a skilled individual to provide organ and piano music in a professional manner for all worship services, seasonal and special services, and special occasions such as weddings and funerals.


The individual must have a committed relationship with God and be able to display a professional level of musical talent from training and experience. H/she must be able to work with the church choirs, Pastor and Worship Ministry. H/she must be able to use music to facilitate congregational singing, bridge the generational gap, and to create the appropriate spiritual atmosphere at the correct moments within the liturgy.

St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, an active and inclusive parish in northeast Atlanta, seeks an organist/choirmaster. 
The parish is known for its excellent Rosales organ (two-manual tracker, 38 ranks, Opus 29), superb acoustics, skilled choirs and collaboration with other musical groups in the metro area. St. Bartholomew’s is also known for its 72-year history of effective advocacy and social justice.
Qualifications
Candidate must have degree(s) in organ, sacred music, or choral conducting (or CAGO/ChM).Robust organ skills, knowledge of Episcopal music and liturgy, and substantial experienceconducting accomplished choirs are required for the position.
Responsibilities
The Organist/Choirmaster (OCM) administers the music program, serves as organist for all worship services and special observances, rehearses and directs two adult choirs, and coordinates liturgical plans with clergy. Additionally, the OCM develops publicity materials for special services and concerts, oversees care of the organ and other instruments, and collaborates with the Music Committee. The OCM manages music libraries and selects appropriate new anthems and psalms. He/she workscontinuously to build the choirs’ skills.
Interpersonal Skills
The OCM will encourage prospective singers to join the choir and work effectively with all ages. Experience recruiting and building a treble choir using RSCM Curriculum is also desirable. The OCM will consult with families for weddings and memorial services, will audition and set expectations for any paid musicians, build collegial relationships with other music organizations that use church space, and ensure that pastoral care for the music ministry is provided as needed.
Benefits
Compensation for the 30 hours-per-week position is $50,000 plus benefits, continuing education, and vacation time (4 weeks/5 Sundays).

Resurrection Traditional Anglican Church - St. Augustine (posted 4/22/26)

Organist needed for Resurrection Traditional Anglican Church in Palencia, St. Augustine.

One service at 10 am on Sundays. Occasional services are offered throughout the year.

Position will be available in late May 2026, but musicians interested are encouraged to contact me now to learn more.

Hymns are selected from the 1940 Hymnal and the service is a traditional Episcopal rite using the 1928 Common Book of Prayer.

In addition to three hymns and service music, an instrumental Prelude, Offertory and Communion are played at Sunday services.

The organ is two manual Allen Protege with digital sound bank and Midi Assistant II.
