9:00 am Amelia Chapel presents 'A Great and Mighty Wonder'
'A Great and Mighty Wonder' is the title of the Christmas Cantata to be presented by the Amelia Chapel Choir and Orchestra on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Sunday worship service beginning with the Prelude at 9:05am.
The 40-voice choir and 20-piece orchestra and organ, directed by RICHARD DICKSON present the 'Christmas Story' through music. The 'story' prompts us to a profound sense of awe and wonder. It is a love story conceived in the heart of a great and mighty God before the creation of time. The gospel of Luke records that after the shepherds had seen the newborn Messiah, they spread the word about what they had experienced. All who heard it were amazed! Even first-century witnesses stood in awe of this wondrous event...and the story continues to stir the hearts and minds of people who heart it afresh each year. Composer and arranger TOM FETTKE takes us again to Bethlehem to experience the fulfillment of God's plan in a humble manager. Beloved and familiar carols along with inspiring new texts and melodies are masterfully blended to create a Christmas worship experience as again we are invited to celebrate the grea tn mighty wonder of God's love!
