The Preservation Hall Jazz Band derives its name from Preservation Hall, the venerable music venue located in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter, founded in 1961 by Allan and Sandra Jaffe. The band has travelled worldwide spreading their mission to nurture and perpetuate the art form of New Orleans Jazz. Whether performing at Carnegie Hall or Lincoln Center, for British Royalty or the King of Thailand, this music embodies a joyful, timeless spirit. This 3rd annual holiday event for the community features the UNF Chorale, Chamber Singers, Brass Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, and fine guest ensembles from all over Northeast Florida.
This event has two performances. One takes place at 2:00 p.m. and the second at 8:00 p.m. Participating ensembles include Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, Duncan U. Fletcher High School, First Coast High School, Terry Parker High School, Paxon School for Advanced Studies, and JMAC.

Establishing what will begin an annual holiday tradition with Clay County arts groups and ensembles, we invite you to attend this premier presentation of music, song and verse with performances by The Clay County Community Band, The Orange Park Chorale (www.orangeparkchorale.com), The Manatee Players of Patterson Elementary School, The Orange Park United Methodist Chancel Bell Choir and Inspirations, and the talented Flutist Donna Wissinger.

4:00 pm Palm Coast: HANDEL’S MESSIAH
Handel’s Messiah will be presented by the Chancel Choir of Trinity Presbyterian Church, under the direction of Linda Hodges. Trinity organist, Delphine Overfield and Rodney Cleveland, Director of Music at Lakewood Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, will accompany on organ and harpsichord. Soloists are Soprano, Rachel Brook, cantorial soloist at Temple Beth Ami, Rockville, MD; Alto, Francesca Scott, recent graduate of Edward Waters College in Jacksonville. Tenor, Timothy Hodges and Baritone, Charles Evans are professional singers at the Trinity Wall Street Church in New York City, where, in October 1770, Messiah received its New World premiere performance.
