MUSIC @ MAIN: Alexei Romanenko ~ Virtuoso Music for Solo Cello
Alexei Romanenko is Principal Cellist with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. This exciting program will include the monumental Sonata for Solo Cello, Op. 8, by Zoltan Kodály, as well as works by Max Reger, Paul Hindemith, Jacques Ibert, Sulkhan Tsintsadze and P.D.Q. Bach. SOUTH JACKSONVILLE PRESBYTERIAN ~ PIPE ORGAN CONCERT SERIES: Mark Coffey
Dr. Coffey’s program will include works by Bach, Franck, Vidor, and Mantz.
Mark Coffey is Director of Music and Organist at First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, where he oversees an extensive music and fine arts ministry. After completing his Bachelor's degree in Music Education at Towson State University, Baltimore Maryland, he earned the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Organ Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music. His research included a dissertation on the renowned mechanical-action organ builder, Charles Fisk. Dr. Coffey studied organ with Richard Wegner and David Craighead and has worked with such noted conductors as Sir David Willcocks, Anton Armstrong and Daniel Moe. Dr Coffey was honored with a Distinguished Alumnus award from his alma mater.
Dr. Coffey served as the consultant on the refurbishment of SJPC’s 1964 Moller pipe organ.

JDRF Benefit Concert
Eric and Ellen Olson, with friends from the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, will present a concert to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (www.jdrf.org). Featured will be works by Vieuxtemps, Bridge, Mozart, Halvorsen, and Mullikin. There is no charge for the concert, but the offering will go to JDRF.

JAX AGO: "Water Music: A Hymn Festival for the River City"

The service will feature improvisations by Andrew Clarke of Riverside Presbyterian and local organists (members of our chapter) accompanying familiar tunes: Hanson Place (Shall We Gather At the River), Nettleton (Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing), Bunessan (Baptized in Water), Melita (Eternal Fath er, Strong to Save), Pilot (Jesus Savior, Pilot Me) and Kingsfold (I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say). David Emery of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church will play J.S. Bach’s "Christ, unser Herr, zum Jordan kam"
