11:00 am - 1:00 pm Main Library: ALL THINGS FRANKLIN: Closing Program, featuring Cecilia Brauer on the Glass Armonica
The Closing program and reception for the Benjamin Franklin: In search of a Better World traveling library exhibit will feature Cecilia Brauer playing the Glass Armonica, and will include an encore performance by Dean Bennett as Benjamin Franklin. The Armonica, also called the glass harmonica, was invented by Benjamin Franklin in 1761, inspired by a concert given on wine glasses that he had attended in England in 1757. It has been said that if the harp is "the instrument of the Angels," then the Armonica is "the voice of the Angels."
